Mexico and Canada, though still subject to prior tariffs, were exempt from the new reciprocal tariffs.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm91fzzh30000356ocflpqato@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that this treatment is due to Mexico\u2019s positive relationship with the US.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm91g0phw0008356oth0p734s@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cThere are no additional tariffs to Mexico and that is good for the country,\u201d Sheinbaum said during a Thursday morning press conference, touting her government\u2019s relationship with the Trump administration.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm91gsoyr00013b5veqf95fdl@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cThis has to do with the good relationship we have constructed with the US government, based on collaboration but with respect\u201d.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm91g0p6l0005356ohd6c13l1@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            \u201cPresident Sheinbaum\u2019s strategy has worked.
