{"id":7829,"date":"2024-09-12T15:02:53","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T15:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailywashingtoninsider.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/12\/ewoyaa-lithium-project-granted-epa-permit\/"},"modified":"2024-09-12T15:02:53","modified_gmt":"2024-09-12T15:02:53","slug":"ewoyaa-lithium-project-granted-epa-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailywashingtoninsider.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/12\/ewoyaa-lithium-project-granted-epa-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Ewoyaa Lithium Project Granted EPA Permit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Atlantic Lithium Limited<\/strong> (AIM: ALL, ASX: A11, OTCQX: ALLIF, \u201cAtlantic Lithium\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d), the African-focused lithium exploration and development company targeting to deliver Ghana&#8217;s first lithium mine, is pleased to announce that Ghana\u2019s Environmental Protection Agency (\u201cEPA\u201d) has granted an environmental permit (\u201cEPA permit\u201d) in respect of the Company\u2019s flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project (the \u201cProject\u201d). <\/p>\n<p>The grant of the EPA permit serves as the EPA\u2019s approval for the Company\u2019s proposed activities at the Project, as detailed in the Company\u2019s Mine and Process Environment Impact Statement (\u201cEIS\u201d), and, therefore, represents an important landmark in the permitting process for the advancement of the Project.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The final EIS submission incorporated feedback from the EPA, both with regards to the draft EIS (submitted in May 2024) and queries raised by members of the Project\u2019s affected communities in the two public hearings held by the EPA in two of the Project\u2019s local affected communities (Ewoyaa and Krofu) in February and June 2024, respectively. Both public hearings were well-attended and highlighted the exceptionally strong local support for the Project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Herbert, Atlantic Lithium\u2019s Executive Chairman, commented:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe grant of the EPA permit marks a major step towards the construction of Ghana\u2019s first lithium mine and follows a collaborative engagement process with the EPA and the residents of Project\u2019s catchment area to ensure their alignment with the Company\u2019s proposed activities at Ewoyaa.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis approval is a testament to Atlantic Lithium\u2019s commitment to acting as a responsible custodian of the land on which we operate, which we consider to be imperative to the long-term success of the Project. We are delighted to have full backing from the EPA and our local stakeholders.
